Two things im beginning to realize more of after this past week of hanging out with the @dirtyhabitstv crew: - 1. We can’t choose the game. We can’t choose the rules. We can only choose how we play, and it’s better to play as a team 2. There are only two ways to influence human behaviour: you can manipulate it or you can inspire it... I choose the latter 🤙🏽

There are many roads to prosperity, but one must be taken. Inaction leads nowhere. - Hay muchos caminos hacia la prosperidad, pero hay que tomar uno. La inacción no lleva a ninguna parte. -R.Z

“You already know who you are.” - Authenticity on this platform has given me opportunities that I once only dreamt of. This trip to Jamaica was further proof that if you stay true to yourself and truly have good intentions with what you want to do, the world will somehow figure out how to make your wildest dreams possible... if you remember one thing this week hopefully it’s this quote by Jay-Z - “Artists can have greater access to reality; they can see patterns and details and connections that other people, distracted by the blur of life, might miss. Just sharing that truth can be a very powerful thing.”

I am becoming more intrigued by this idea of choosing 4 countries and spending 3 months living in each country rather than choosing one place to live. If money weren’t a factor I would choose: - Portugal 🇵🇹 Colombia 🇨🇴 Japan 🇯🇵 Argentina 🇦🇷 - What about you? Comment below the 4 countries you would love to explore. Curious to know what countries are on your bucket list. - 🎵Borrinquen Bella - @farrukoofficial @zionylennox @pedrocapo @jquiles

How to find work you love 10/10 - The biggest learning from this book for me was the realization that even if you feel completely lost in the direction you’re going, the only way to discover what you really want to do is to begin to be open minded with your interests. To not be closed off to a certain method or path and to forever remain a student of the game we call life. - My friend @kestyoga asked me in Bali what was my best video I’ve made to date and I told him with no hesitation.. “I haven’t made it yet.” - See I’ve been waiting since I started this whole video thing 7 years ago to be able to be in a place financially where I can create meaningful and impactful content. I still have many pages left to be written in my book before I achieve to tap into this goal of mine and I by no means intend to rush the process. I am simply here to document and put my thoughts into a visual form so one day when it’s all set and done the ones that have followed me can see how with a little curiosity, positivity, optimism and self awareness, you can do something that is bigger than yourself and positively impact the world. - If you have any question after going through the posts. How to find work you love 9/10 - “For a mission-driven project to succeed, it should be remarkable in two different ways. First, it must compel people who encounter it to remark about it to others. Second, it must be launched in a venue that supports such remarking.” - Digging into this a bit deeper I’ve found that people tend to forget that remarkability or the chance for something to stick and work only comes from consistent evaluation of your attempts and the market. I constantly see people put out one video or one post with hopes it’s the video or photo that goes viral. What does that really do if you don’t know what direction you’re trying to go and what you truly are trying to achieve with the attention you gain. - I always remind myself, if a piece of content gave me a million eyeballs, would my next piece of content be similar ? Rather than making something for virality sake, I think innovating within a space where you know can yield a return both financially and fulfill you in the long term is a much better route to take. Trends are a tool not a shortcut and the execution of any endeavor should be taken with an authentic approach to who you are. #payitforward 📸 @tristankermode

How to find work we love 8/10 - “Great missions are transformed into great successes as the result of using small and achievable projects to explore concrete possibilities surrounding a compelling idea.” - Little bets for me have fundamentally helped propel me forward. I see them as 60 day challenges where I fully commit to seeing something through and documenting every detail about my endeavors. Almost every time I failed in some way and won in others. The best part is no failure ever was remembered and every small win gave me confidence to try something more challenging next time around. Little bets gave me my first paycheck for a video. Little bets gave me my dream job a year after college. Little bets grew my confidence enough to now find joy in pushing past my comfort zone in order to see how far I can go with this one life we all get. - If rare and valuable skills make it possible to identify a compelling mission, then its strategy of little bets that gives you a good shot of succeeding in this mission. #payitforward

How to find work we love 7/10 - Once you feel confident you have rare and valuable skills to offer, seeing opportunities you previously never thought and not falling victim to control traps will only come once you strategically get curious about the process. - Once I started getting introduced to how big production companies worked, meeting up for coffee with freelance directors, editors, as well as asking creative directors and producers from previous agencies how they worked with creatives... I began to find areas of opportunities I previously never thought of. - “A good career mission is similar to a scientific breakthrough- it’s an innovation waiting to be discovered in the adjacent possible of your field.” #payitforward

How to find work you love 6/10 - “Once you acquire enough career capital, you become valuable enough to your employer that they will fight your efforts to gain more autonomy.” - This might be the control trap most people fall victim to. I’ve always believed that in order to work for what you want you have to leave your ego aside and provide value. You have to make it about the end goal and see how you can contribute. By consistently doing that you start to gain respect and trust which are two things everyone should strive for when working with anyone. - However, people think that just because you weren’t where you are now when you started, that you are “in debt” to a person, or company. You begin to romanticize the relationship that when broken down was predicated on how much value you were providing making it easy for others to celebrate you. - This mentality causes so many people to feel bad or guilty for outgrowing something and simply put, impedes your growth. Rather than wanting to keep someone for the value they provide, why not open up the doors for them so they too can do that to someone else later on in life. That’s why people should be mindful of staying somewhere when they begin to feel confident enough to reach higher and dream bigger.
