Wow! Today’s leg day was very different! All day I was thinking it was going to be a crappy leg day because I was so tired. The good news is I ended up falling asleep and waking up refreshed! I knew it was deadlift day, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do in terms of weight & reps. So I warmed up just to see how it felt. I did 315lb for 10 reps and it felt amazing, so I decided to do 405lb for 10 reps as well. Going into 495lb I didn’t know what I wanted to get, but I knew I had to get 5 reps at least. It just kept moving, so I just kept going. I told myself I wanted to get 10 reps. In my head I got 10, but found out I miscounted lol. Its all good though I’m EXTREMELY happy with 9 reps. Shoutout to @sal_parente & @mintz48 for hyping me up for it. @thepowerfulpeach was casually pulling up big weight beside me, so it made me really want to work for it. Being by myself today, I took my time more than ever. Focused on single leg isolation because of how heavy I went the last leg day. Felt super good and I’m feeling super good. Oh and shout out @kolby_jacked_cheese for hitting like 4 PRs today! Made 295lb on bench look like nothing! 😳 Still so hyped about this PR!!! Gravity and I have a deep connection which explains my fear of handstands. The thought of jumping from downward dog to half handstand makes me cringe 😅! I guess my age and having kids contribute to that. I have never been athletic growing up so being competitive was never in my nature. I always like to take my practice slow. But my practice this past year was overwhelming I was doing poses I never thought possible. So before the year end I'm going to tackle my greatest fear, I'm still not jumping but will work on a more controlled approach. So here I am today on my second day into handstand. This may look easy but getting my legs up without momentum is really hard the brute strength in my core that I used is so much that I felt I was punched in my stomach!
